- Vineyard establishment and re-development
- Recommendations on varietal and clonal selection of vines to suit vineyard and market trends.
- Provision of reports and advice on wine industry matters
- Assist and direct harvesting plans at appropriate ripeness levels
- In consultation with vineyard managers, determine spray programs in compliance with current export regulations with particular reference to the EC and USA
- Advise on cash flows pertaining to aspects of wine production, packaging and sales
- Determination of projected yields and procurement of fruit, if required
- Assist in securing sales of projected harvest
- Training of cellar/bottling and laboratory staff as required
- Advise on winery design and commissioning, including project management
Production
- Undertake on-site winemaking in the event that all or part of the company’s winemaking is conducted at a contract winemaking facility
- Advise and consult as to wine style trends, winemaking techniques and procedures to be employed.
- Assist in wine show and trade show sample preparation
- Ensure that investments in oak and associated items are correctly managed and maintained
- Assessment of cellar practices and procedures employed at the company’s and/or contract facilities, including the preparation of wines for bottling
- Impact assessment of winemaking, bottling and packaging machinery
Post Production
- Wine appraisals of bulk and bottled wine
- Development of Quality Assurance standards and practices to be employed in the vineyard, winery, bottling facility and warehouse, including the dispatch of wine to market
Procurement and facilitation of bulk and bottled wine for export purposes
